Sheared House

Project Overview

Sheared House is a 6,200 square foot custom residence located on a steep site overlooking the Lions Gate Bridge. The home is positioned to engage expansive views through floor-to-ceiling glazing, while responding directly to the site’s topography and the surrounding urban and maritime context.

The architecture is organized around a series of precisely articulated shear walls, allowing portions of the building to shift forward and back along the elevation. These subtle movements create moments of privacy for projecting volumes while casting a dynamic play of light and shadow across the façade.
