Ravine House

Project Overview

Ravine House is a contemporary residence shaped by constraint, topography, and a deep sensitivity to its setting. Built on a narrow urban lot bordered by a riparian zone, the project was guided by a careful balance between design intent, environmental stewardship, and the realities of building within a tightly defined site.

The architecture is composed as a series of rectilinear volumes that step with the natural slope of the ravine. These forms are separated and reconnected by a glazed bridge, creating moments of compression and transparency while maintaining a sense of continuity across the site. Planar concrete walls anchor the house into the landscape, their weight and texture echoing the eroded stone and exposed banks of the creek below.
